Two days North East Educational Conclave was held on 20th and 21st November, 2021 which aimed to illustrate the basic premise of National Education Policy, 2020 along with the challenges and experiences related to its implementation in some of the major States of India. This is one of the biggest Education Conclave in North East India in recent years where Education Ministers of five North Eastern States (Manipur, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Maghalaya and Assam) and representatives of different States participated. The innaugral session of the Conclave was held on 20th November, 2021 at GMCH Auditorium where Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Minister of education, Govt. of India graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Shri Himanta Biswa Samra, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Assam as the distinguished Guest of Honour. The Validictory Session was held on 21st November, 2021, where Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Hon'ble Governor of Assam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Minister, Education as distinguished guest of Honour.
They were all together 14 (Fourteen) sessions which were specific to the things related to 5 (Five) distinct groups namely Education Ministers, Vice Chancellors, Directors, College Principals/Managements and Schools Teachers/Head Masters. More than one thousand delegates participated in the Event which were representatives from fourty one Central Universities and National Institutes, fifty seven State Universities, fifty three Schools and Non-Govt. Organizations. The resource persons for the sessions were from various reputed Organizations like UGC, AICTE, NCERT, NCTE, IIM, IIT etc. Further, Representatives from three States namely Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh who have already implemented NEP, 2020 shared their experience with the August gathering of intellectuals and key stake holders.
This Conclave witnessed a dialogue between and among the stake holders of the education field and these delibarations are expected to facilitate in achiving newer heights in the process of implementing NEP, 2020 in its letter and spirit.
